Nilson Report : The 2022 Global POS and Acquiring Market
In 2022, Global POS terminal shipments reached 148.3 million, up by 4.5 percent year on year, according to the 2022 Global POS and Acquiring Market Report published by Nilson. Among them, 89.5 million terminals shipped into the Asia-Pacific region, accounting for 60.37 percent of the global total with a 1.5 percent increase from the year before, which proved that the region remained the major market. It was followed by the Latin American area with a total shipment of 25.2 million and a year-on-year rise of 0.5 percent, Europe with an aggregate of 14.3 million and a year-on-year growth rate of 14.2 percent, the United States with a total sales of 7.8 million and a rise of 11.7 percent over the last year, the combination of the Middle East and MEA with the total volume of 7.26 million and an increase of 24.9 percent year on year, and Canada with the figures of 600,000 and 35 percent.

In the global acquiring market, 150 acquirers made a total transaction of 446.89 billion in 2022, a 12.1 percent increase over the last year. Wherein, the Asia-Pacific region saw that the contribution of commercial cards hit 4.967 billion transactions with the total volume standing at USD 4.489 trillion.
